OPENING RECEPTION IN MARFA

Galleri Urbane is
pleased to announce an opening reception to celebrate Michael
Berman's new work,
and the launch of his most recent book
"Trinity", published by
U.T press, and written by Lannan writer Charles Bowden.
The book signing is 6:30-7:30, at the gallery . Marfa Book Co.
will be on site with a large inventory of books for purchase.
The works curated in the show, are published in the new book
"Trinity".

Michael P. Berman received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2008 for
his work on the Southwestern grasslands that appears in
Trinity. His photographs are included in the collections of
the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Amon Carter Museum, and
the Museum of New Mexico. He has received painting fellowships
from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and the Wurlitzer
Foundation, and his installations, photographs, and paintings
have been reviewed in Art in America and exhibited throughout
the country.

Also, In Marfa showing in Gallery 3, Misako Inaoko, Born in
Japan and based in San Francisco, Inaoko's small sculptures,
"Natural Selections", crafted animal hybrids, not
scientifically but derived from her imagination,mixing the
urban world, with nature. Inaoko, creates mechanical birds and
other animals from toys and found objects, powered by hidden
motion detectors, her birds often chirp and move their heads
to awaken the viewer.

Galleri Urbane
Established in 1999, in New Mexico, moved to Marfa TX in 2004,
and now Dallas TX. Owner Ree Willaford, originally from
California,worked in retail,design and merchandising before
venturing into the art world.
Co owner, Jason
Willaford, born in Tampa Florida, B.F.A Florida State, studied
under Jim Roche, Trevor Bell and Ed Love. Willaford's art work
is in over 300 public and private collections through out the
U.S. Galleri Urbane features emerging to established artists,
in sculpture,painting,and photography.
